Step 1: Box Dimensions

We measure all our boxes in mm using internal dimensions, with a possible size variance of up to 3% due to corrugated cardboard. Measurements follow (L) Length x (W) Width x (H) Height format:

  • L = Length: longest side at the box opening
  • W = Width: shorter side at the opening
  • H = Height: top of the opening to the base

To measure your box correctly:

  1. Use a tape measure for accuracy
  2. Measure the length (longest side of the base)
  3. Measure the width (shortest side of the base)
  4. Measure the height (base to top of the box)

Something to Consider...

If your products need protection, allow extra space in the box. Explore our Protection and Cushioning range, and remember to adjust your Length, Width, and Height measurements accordingly.

Step 2: Box Style

Our bespoke cardboard boxes meet FEFCO and ESBO standards, ensuring high quality.

Browse our shop for inspiration and choose from single or double wall corrugated boxes, fully customizable to your needs.

Here are popular FEFCO/ESBO styles to help you decide:

  • 0201 / 0203: Standard box for general use
  • 0300: Flat items
  • 0320: Varying heights/heavy items
  • 0409 / 0411: Flat items

Step 4: Cardboard Thickness

Step 4: Cardboard Thickness

The thickness of your cardboard determines the strength and flexibility of your box.

Choose between:

  • Single Wall: One layer of fluting, ideal for lightweight products.
  • Double Wall: Two layers of fluting, providing extra protection for fragile or heavy items.

You'll also select the fluting size and board grade, which affects the cardboard's thickness and strength, ensuring the right fit for your product.

Step 5: Quantity

When entering the quantity of bespoke boxes, note that smaller orders cost more per box due to setup costs, especially for single boxes. Price breaks apply for larger orders, shown below the quantity input on our custom box calculator.

Shipping is added at checkout, calculated based on your delivery address. You can also arrange your own courier or collection, but we offer competitive shipping rates.

UK Packaging EPR

What is the EPR packaging charge?

EPR is a UK Government scheme that makes businesses contribute towards the cost of dealing with household packaging waste.

GOV.UK explains that EPR:
“shifts the end-of-life costs of household packaging waste from taxpayers and local authorities to the producers who place packaging on the UK market”
Read the official EPR guidance on GOV.UK

When Quickbox supplies empty packaging, we are normally responsible for the EPR cost, so an EPR contribution will be added to your order.

The charge may not apply if:

If either of these applies to you, complete our short EPR declaration on the sign up page and we will apply the correct EPR treatment to your account.

The charge helps Quickbox recover the costs we have to pay under the Government’s EPR scheme.
