The Problem With Standard Bike Packaging

Bikes can be difficult to package due to their size, shape, and the number of components that may need protecting.

Standard box sizes may not provide the right fit for every bike, frame, or accessory. This can leave unnecessary space inside the packaging and allow parts to move during handling and transport.

Whether you're shipping a complete bike, a component kit or an individual accessory, the packaging needs to suit the product and the way it is being sent.

UK Packaging EPR

What is the EPR packaging charge?

EPR is a UK Government scheme that makes businesses contribute towards the cost of dealing with household packaging waste.

GOV.UK explains that EPR:
“shifts the end-of-life costs of household packaging waste from taxpayers and local authorities to the producers who place packaging on the UK market”
Read the official EPR guidance on GOV.UK

When Quickbox supplies empty packaging, we are normally responsible for the EPR cost, so an EPR contribution will be added to your order.

The charge may not apply if:

If either of these applies to you, complete our short EPR declaration on the sign up page and we will apply the correct EPR treatment to your account.

The charge helps Quickbox recover the costs we have to pay under the Government’s EPR scheme.
