11 January 2024 by
Conor Sellars

In today's eco-conscious market, Quickbox stands as a beacon of sustainable packaging, championing the use of 100% recyclable materials. This blog will illuminate the far-reaching effects of non-recyclable packaging and the benefits of our eco-friendly approach, highlighting our pivotal role in reshaping the packaging industry towards a more sustainable future.

Exploring the Environmental Impact of Packaging Waste

Packaging waste is a critical environmental issue. Excessive use of non-recyclable materials not only crowd’s landfills but also pollutes oceans, threatening marine life and ecosystems. The decomposition of these materials can take hundreds of years, releasing harmful substances into the environment. The transition to sustainable packaging is a crucial step towards mitigating these impacts. Quickbox leads this shift by only using recyclable materials, thus setting a benchmark for environmental responsibility in the packaging industry.

Advantages of Using Recyclable Materials in Packaging

The shift to recyclable materials offers a multitude of benefits:

Environmental Conservation: By using recyclable materials, Quickbox helps preserve natural habitats and biodiversity, reducing the strain on landfills and lowering pollution levels.

Energy Efficiency: The recycling process is generally more energy-efficient compared to the manufacturing of new materials. This efficiency translates to a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to global efforts against climate change.

Economic Benefits: Recycling can stimulate local economies by creating jobs in the recycling sector. It can also be cost-effective over time, as recycling processes become more streamlined and widespread.

Brand Image and Customer Loyalty: Companies like Quickbox that prioritise sustainability often see a positive impact on their brand image. Customers are increasingly looking to support environmentally responsible businesses, leading to enhanced customer loyalty and market share.

Quickbox's Role in Reducing Carbon Footprint Through Recyclable Packaging

Quickbox's commitment to 100% recyclable materials places it at the forefront of the fight against climate change in the packaging industry. This commitment is reflected in every aspect of our operations, from sourcing materials to manufacturing processes, and even in our corporate ethos. By reducing the carbon footprint associated with packaging, Quickbox not only contributes to a healthier planet but also inspires other businesses to follow suit.

In conclusion, the adoption of sustainable packaging is a critical step in our collective effort to combat environmental degradation. Quickbox's dedication to using 100% recyclable materials is a shining example for the industry, illustrating the positive impact that responsible business practices can have on the planet. UK Packaging EPR

What is the EPR packaging charge?

EPR is a UK Government scheme that makes businesses contribute towards the cost of dealing with household packaging waste.

GOV.UK explains that EPR:
“shifts the end-of-life costs of household packaging waste from taxpayers and local authorities to the producers who place packaging on the UK market”
Read the official EPR guidance on GOV.UK

When Quickbox supplies empty packaging, we are normally responsible for the EPR cost, so an EPR contribution will be added to your order.

The charge may not apply if:

If either of these applies to you, complete our short EPR declaration on the sign up page and we will apply the correct EPR treatment to your account.

The charge helps Quickbox recover the costs we have to pay under the Government’s EPR scheme.
